New web hosting for Forest Treasures

I have just completed migrating FOREST TREASURES across to it's new home at InMotionHosting. The site had previously been hosted at Powweb since 2003 ... but, their service and performance has deteriorated significantly during the last 3 or 4 years. So, it became necessary to cut the tie and move on to a better providor.

InMotionHosting so far has proved excellent. I moved a couple of my other sites (ROBERT GILMOUR ARTFORMS :: BOB GILMOUR dot info) a year ago and they are performing much better ... 3 or 4 times faster and no issues with php and mysql for which Powweb is notorious.

In the week or so since I've moved FOREST TREASURES, the site is running faster, in line with the other sites I had already moved. I have also just installed a dedicated security certificate as well.

It had been my intention to complete a full update of the site prior to migration, but just haven't had enough time this year so far. So, I'm planning to do a series of rolling upgrades to update the look and feel of the site and also further improve it's performance.

FOREST TREASURES can be visited HERE

New Forest Treasures Blog

I have just launched a new blog for Forest Treasures over at "Blogger" ... located at http://www.foresttreasures.info/.

It's about time to start an update of my main Forest Treasures site (http://www.foresttreasures.com/) and thought it might be a good idea to get the blog part of it running on an independent blogging platform ... at least, it's quick to get up and running ... the website re-write won't be ... well, not at least if I'm doing it.

Forest Treasures is my retail business. In addition to the website, I also run a physical once-a-week store at the Port Douglas Artisan's Market where most of the Forest Treasures range is available.

Forest Treasures includes a range of unique homewares and adornments, all hand-made, ranging from very functional but artful to very artful ... but you could use them if you really really wanted to. The range includes kitchen utensils, serving bowls and dishes, salad bowls, fine bowls and centerpieces, and some jewellery items and other bits and pieces.

The basic Forest Treasures range is also available for sale on Etsy ... http://foresttreasures.etsy.com ... a handmade-only shopping site based in the USA but with members world-wide.
